HOLDER MAKES LIONS ROARAussie international Chris Holder warmed up for the Monster Energy SWC with 18 paid 19 points from seven races as Lejonen stunned his old club Piraterna 46-44 in the Swedish Elitserien on Tuesday.

The 2012 world champion made the most of a drop to reserve, as only world champion Greg Hancock and Danish champ Niels-Kristian Iversen got the better of him. He was backed up by a 12 paid 13-point haul from Polish star Piotr Pawlicki.

Danish racer Peter Kildemand, overlooked for the Monster Energy SWC, top-scored on 12 for Piraterna, with Hancock racing to 11 paid 13. Iversen added eight paid nine and Russia’s Emil Sayfutdinov scored four paid five.

Polish champion Patryk Dudek charged to 14 points for Dackarna as recorded a 47-43 triumph in Hallstavik. Danish rider Mads Korneliussen accrued 11 points, Maciej Janowski scored seven paid eight and Freddie Lindgren raced to five paid six.

Swedish rider Jacob Thorssell piled up 15 paid 16 for Rospiggarna, with Aussie ace Max Fricke tallying 10 paid 13 and Timo Lahti notching 10 paid 11.

Sweden’s Andreas Jonsson returned to action after an injury layoff with eight points as he regains full fitness for Monster Energy SWC Event 2 in Vastervik next Tuesday.

Polish icon Jaroslaw Hampel stormed to a 15-point maximum for Vetlanda as they thumped Smederna 53-37. World No.3 Bartosz Zmarzlik zoomed to 11 points, while Szymon Wozniak notched nine and Slovakia’s Martin Vaculik scored six paid eight.

Danish rider Mikkel Michelsen led the Smederna scoring on 11, with Matej Zagar picking up 10 paid 11.

Poland’s Piotr Protasiewicz bagged 14 points for Indianerna as they cruised to a 50-40 victory over Masarna. Czech ace Vaclav Milik weighed in with 10 and Denmark’s Kenneth Bjerre added eight.

Kim Nilsson tallied 10 for Masarna, with Sweden’s Antonio Lindback notching nine points. GB star Robert Lambert defied a wrist injured to score four at reserve, while his compatriot Tai Woffinden sat out.
